EMILY WICKS

Emily Wicks, a ceramic artist since 2009, produces both installation and functional works. Her artistic practice highlights the inherent qualities of clay and fiber, examining themes of the body and impermanence. After initially teaching at institutions such as VCUarts and the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, Wicks now directs her educational endeavors toward Hand / Thrown, the Richmond based community ceramics studio she co-owns.
