The Dressing Room Series: Duaa

Welcome back to the latest edition of our Dressing Room Series – a monthly feature where we invite a friend from the community to join us in the dressing room at our second location in Bon Air. Get a behind the-scenes look at our friends' style, their favorite pieces, and share what they’re loving right now.

Read more about our friend Duaa Saeed's favorites in this month’s Q&A.

How would you describe your personal style? When shopping with an independent designer like Na Nin, what types of pieces make you feel the most confident?

I gravitate toward pieces that feel polished yet effortless. Tailored trousers, crisp button-downs, well-made knits, and rich neutrals. I’m very drawn to garments with character — vintage textures, heritage details, and the kind of craftsmanship that only improves over time.

Leather that softens with wear, denim with a lived-in authenticity, and classic outerwear that never goes out of style. Above all, I really believe in investment pieces — prioritizing quality fabrics and meticulous construction. The result is a wardrobe that feels elevated, cohesive, and deeply personal.

Na Nin’s Romy Sweater in cotton & alpaca has been one of my favorite fun textured pieces. You can tell the craftsmanship and unique blend of fabrics has the most luxurious feel.

I also LOVE the Cooper Silk Canvas Cargos! Such a versatile piece. Wearable in the winter and in the summer. These pants are beyond flattering on multiple figures. The pants are an investment piece but once you look at the blend you immediately feel confident about what you’re putting on your body!

You mentioned that you went through a big weight loss journey, which is so incredible. How has shopping with a brand that designs with inclusive sizing in mind changed your overall shopping experience?

I think the first thing I noticed at Na Nin was that the way the garments were sized and labeled was unique. Stepping out of societal norms that use traditional sizing scales and offering a neutral numerical system gave me confidence in fitting in different pieces. When I walk into any Na Nin storefront or shop online they have me as a consumer in mind, and that is an unmatched feeling. You can tell Na Nin in is a woman-owned brand.

As you know, Na Nin hand-pours all of our candles and fragrances. Which candle or fragrance feels the most “Duaa,” and why?

Omg, this may be my favourite question!!! For me it has to be Cedar & Santal, it is so nostalgic for me. Especially being middle eastern and growing up in the household where perfumes and scents were so carefully curated. This scent brings me right back to being in my mum’s closet while she sprayed her clothes - something I currently do actually with this scent in my own closet. But it is just a true picture of my childhood and the authentic middle eastern scents I have such a personal connection to.

What’s on your holiday gifting list from our Bon Air location this season?

Oooh, so hard to pick but I would definitely say I love the Undo claw clips and the big scrunchies - and honestly for a special someone that you want to invest in, but anything baby alpaca by Na Nin is a win!

As Chief of Culture at the local Richmond Chick-fil-As, community plays a huge role in your work. What does community look like to you, and how does it feel to be part of the Na Nin community?

Honestly this is such a phenomenal question. Contrary to popular belief, CFA’s are actually individually and privately franchised, so our two stores combined are considered a small business. Our mission as an individual franchise is to be the best and most caring - being a space of restoration in our community. I also think of how much Na Nin had been just that for me.

Both CFA & Na Nin have strategically and intentionally created a space and product that is for people. Being a part of the Na Nin family feels so in line with my personal values, one of which is a sense of belonging. Na Nin’s team has truly made me feel a part of something good, and it’s important to me that those foundational values align.

Thank you so much to Kate and the entire Na Nin team for being such a light in Richmond and beyond. For cultivating confidence in women and being a source of joy. I loved doing this and can’t wait for the future for Na Nin.
