NA NIN ON BUFORD RD

After receiving such a warm response to our temporary pop up in the Bon Air Shopping Center since the spring of 2024, we're thrilled to be in a more permanent second home at 2614 Buford Rd near neighborhood institutions Buford Road Pharmacy and Perk! Coffee & Lunchbox. We're deeply grateful for our creative collaborators, friends, and greater community for making this dream a reality. Read on for a glimpse behind the scenes of how our beloved second location came to be.

First and foremost, the overall vision, design, and execution of the store wouldn't have been possible without our collaboration with interdisciplinary design group Studio Tarea. Our friends Nolan Beck Rivera and Cameron Billinghurst worked with our team every step of the way, from presenting initial sketches to applying finishing touches, to make our dream store come to life.

The bulk of the custom carpentry and fabrication (including the cash wrap, card racks, and extensive curtain tracks throughout the store) is custom work by Eli Gray. The wooden shelving along the walls of the space were built by Matt Pockett and finished by Wills Furniture Restoration & Wood Finishing.

The beautiful curtains surrounding the dressing rooms and behind the cashwrap were fabricated by Keri Gray. The most special part of the finished product is that the curtains are made from the same cotton-linen fabric that we use for apparel in our in house clothing line.

.

We commissioned local artist and basket maker Alice Noyes to create four large custom woven light fixtures as well as multiple smaller baskets for merchandising goods around the store.

Our custom metal clothing racks were created for us by R&M Fabrication and Design. Eli Mattoon also built our custom chairs, which were finished with handwoven cording by Kelsey Copeland.

Our friend Michelle Chu is seen in the dressing room with one of our collaborative custom made chairs.

On May 1st, 2025 we hosted our soft opening night to welcome friends and family to see our new space for the first time. We're grateful to Richmond Magazine for their feature on Na Nin and our Buford Road store.
