Founded in 2008, NINA Z reintroduces the iconic Swedish clog to the metropolitan market. Inspired by the wooden shoes worn in Sweden in the ‘70s and ‘80s, Nina Ziefvert created her namesake label to fill the clog void in New York City. Starting with women’s classic clogs, the line now includes sandals and boots, with a handbag partnership in the works. To supplement the foundation line, which is available all year, seasonal styles are added for Spring and Fall. Nina’s travels, Swedish heritage and life in Brooklyn are the main sources of inspiration for the brand, giving her shoes a unique twist. The shoe styles are identified by popular and retro Swedish names. Each pair of shoes is handmade in Sweden by fifth generation shoemakers using traditional methods and only natural materials. NINA Z shoes are made with European birch and alder wood and the soles are recycled rubber.
NINA Z is based in Brooklyn, NY.
